I An Not On Twitter - Asari

Foreign Journalist James Schneider who is in Nigeria to cover the election rung Niger Delta Militant Asari Dokubo yesterday and this is how their conversation went:

"Yesterday evening I spoke with Asari Dokubo on the phone. He said that "the elections were rigged by INEC" & the "card readers were a fraud"

I asked Asari Dokubo what he thought of GEJ's concession & call for his supporters to accept,
Asari Dokubo "Jonathan cannot speak for our people"

I asked Asari Dokubo how he would respond to result. He "can't say now how we will respond" but it will be "appropriate when the time comes"

Asari Dokubo explained that he can't act unilaterally & seeks "consensus among the people" "when we meet we will decide"

Asari Dokubo made no threats. He said he never said he wouldn't accept a GEJ loss but wouldn't accept GEJ convoy attacked in the North.

Asari Dokubo said "we [the Ijaw people] are capable of defending ourselves" as "we have done it before and we will do it again"

Asari Dokubo also said he was not on twitter and was keen to state that the tweet circulating of him congratulating GMB is a fake.
